| Arriving at Tullamarine Airport we are some
distance from Downtown Melbourne so don't be surprised when it takes upwards
of half an hour to travel to the 5*
Medina Grand Apartments, situated in the heart of Melbourne and scene
of our first few nights in Australia. After a few hours sleep you are bid
a warm welcome to Australia's sporting capital, home of the M.C.G., Colonial
Stadium and Melbourne Park, to name but a few. As we will be arriving on
28th Dec there are three possible days of the Boxing Day Test, but also
make sure you visit the Rialto
Towers (tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere) giving you fantastic
views all over Melbourne or enjoy a relaxing trip down the River Yarra.
Other places of interest include the bustling Queen
Victoria Market (guaranteed to sell you something no matter how good
your willpower is!) and for those not going to the cricket a trip to St
Kilda beach on a tram is an option.We are trying to arrange a welcome meal
at one of the many restaurants next to the Yarra in Southgate, and a visit
to The Greg Chappel Cricket Shop. |
